How to Export your Outlook mailbox to a .PST file and add it to Outlook 2007 as a Personal Folder
Exporting to a .PST file:
In Outlook got to File > Import and Export > Select Export to a file
Click on Next.
Choose the Personal Folder File (.pst) option
Click on Next.
In this screen make sure to highlight your mailbox (Mailbox – Your Name)
Make sure you check the “Include subfolders” checkbox
Click on Next.
In this screen you need to select where you want to save your .PST file
Click on Browse.
In this screen you will choose the location where you want to save your .PST file
Please save it to your desktop for easy access.
Click on the Desktop Icon on the left pane, then name your PST file in the “File name:” field Full Email Backup and Click OK
In this screen click on Finish.
In this next screen name the Personal Folders the same, Full Email Backup and click on OK.
You will see your .PST file exporting to your Desktop. (This can take some time, depending on the size of your mailbox).
After it’s done exporting you will see your .PST file on your desktop.
Adding the .PST file to Outlook (NOT IMPORTING):
In Outlook click on File > Outlook Data File… >
Choose “Office Outlook Personal Folder File (.pst)” and click OK
In this screen choose your .PST file
On the left click on Desktop and then highlight your .PST file and click OK
Click OK.
You should see your folder in outlook now.
