User profile cannot be loaded.&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you log on to Vista or Windows 7 using a temporary profile (user account), you receive this error message:<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: red;\">The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>For more information, see:<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/kb\/947215\/en-us\" target=\"_blank\">Error  message when you log on to a Windows Vista-based or Windows 7-based  computer by using a temporary profile: &#8220;The User Profile Service failed  the logon. User profile cannot be loaded&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Cause:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: blue;\">The jury is still out on the exact cause, but so far :<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>This  issue may occur if the user profile was manually deleted by using the  command prompt or Windows Explorer by a user or by some program. A  profile that is manually deleted does not remove the security identifier  (SID) from the user <strong>profile list<\/strong> in the registry. Since the SID  is still present, Vista will still try to load the profile by using the  ProfileImagePath that points to a nonexistent path. Therefore, the  profile cannot be loaded.<\/li>\n<li>This can also be a issue with the user profile entering into a backup state.<\/li>\n<li>Manually renaming the <strong>C:\\Users\\(User Name)<\/strong> user profile folder.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Warning:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>f you have this error message below instead, then see: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vistax64.com\/tutorials\/135858-user-profile-error-logged-temporary-profile.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">How to Fix the Error &#8220;Your user profile was not loaded correctly! You have been logged on with a temporary profile.&#8221; in Vista<\/span><\/strong><\/a><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Your user profile was not loaded correctly! You have been logged on with a temporary profile.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Changes  you make to this profile will be lost when you log off. Please see the  event log for details or contact your administrator.<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><strong>TIP:<\/strong><\/p>\n<div><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\">If the steps in the tutorial below do not help or you wish to try this first, then:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You could also try doing a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vistax64.com\/tutorials\/76905-system-restore-how.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">System Restore<\/span><\/strong><\/a><strong> at boot<\/strong> using a restore point dated before the this error to see if it may be able to fix this.<\/li>\n<li>If you do not want to repair the user profile, you can delete it and create a new user account in <strong><span style=\"color: green;\">OPTION TWO<\/span><\/strong>. If it did, then go to step 2D.<\/p>\n<p>C) Log off in Safe Mode, and then log on to the built-in Administrator account to logon with that account in Safe Mode.<\/p>\n<p>D) Go to <strong><span style=\"color: green;\">OPTION ONE<\/span><\/strong> or <strong><span style=\"color: green;\">OPTION TWO<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<div>OPTION ONE<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: navy;\">To Fix the User Account Profile<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\">1.<\/span><\/strong> Open the Start menu.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\">2.<\/span><\/strong> In the white line (Start Search) area, type <strong>regedit<\/strong> and press <strong>Enter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\">3.<\/span><\/strong> If prompted by UAC, either click on <strong>Continue<\/strong> (Vista) or <strong>Yes<\/strong> (Windows 7).<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\">4.<\/span><\/strong> In regedit, go to: (See screenshot below step 5)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div>\n<div>Code:<\/div>\n<pre dir=\"ltr\">HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows NT\\CurrentVersion\\ProfileList<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\">5.<\/span><\/strong> In the left pane, look for the <strong>S-1-5&#8230;..<\/strong> folder (<strong>SID<\/strong> key) with the long number that has <strong>.bak<\/strong> at the end of the numbers.<br \/>\n(See screenshots below steps 6A and 7B)<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: red;\">NOTE:<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: red;\">A)<\/span><\/strong> <em>In the right pane, look at the <strong>ProfileImagePath<\/strong> to verify that this is the user account profile that has the error<\/em>.<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: red;\">B)<\/span><\/strong> <em>You may have another <strong>S-1-5&#8230;..<\/strong> folder (<strong>SID<\/strong> key) above it with the exact same number without the <strong>.bak<\/strong> at the end of it<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"font-size: small;\">6. <span style=\"color: blue;\">If you have Two S-1-5&#8230;.. folders (SID key) with the same Number<\/span><\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: red;\">NOTE:<\/span><\/strong> <em>This is if you have two <strong>S-1-5&#8230;..<\/strong> folders (<strong>SID<\/strong> key) with the exact same numbers, but the second (below) one has the <strong>.bak<\/strong> at the end of the numbers<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A) In the left pane, right click on the first (top) <strong>S-1-5&#8230;..<\/strong> folder (<strong>SID<\/strong> key) that <strong><span style=\"color: red;\">does not have<\/span><\/strong> <strong>.bak<\/strong> at the end of the numbers and click <strong>Rename<\/strong>. (See screenshot above)<\/p>\n<p>D) Remove only <strong>.bak<\/strong> from the end of the numbers and press <strong>Enter<\/strong>. (See screenshot below step 10)<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: red;\">NOTE:<\/span><\/strong><em> If you do not have <strong>RefCount<\/strong>, then right click on a empty space in the right pane and click <strong>New<\/strong> and <strong>DWORD (32 bit) Value<\/strong>, then type <strong>RefCount<\/strong> and press <strong>Enter<\/strong>.  This value for this entry will reset and return back to the original  value after you have restarted the computer and logged on to the account<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A) Type <strong>0<\/strong> (number) and click on <strong>OK<\/strong>. (See screenshot below step 10)<br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: red;\">NOTE:<\/span><\/strong> <em>This  value for this entry will reset and return back to the original value  after you have restarted the computer and logged on to the account<\/em>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>A) Type <strong>0<\/strong> (number) and click on <strong>OK<\/strong>.
