With this feature it is possible to boot your Windows 8 from a USB  drive on any PC. In this post I show you how you can do this.<\/p>\n<h1>Requirements<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>UBS drive with 16GB free Space<\/li>\n<li>A PC running Windows 8<\/li>\n<li>The <a title=\"Windows 8 ISO\" href=\"http:\/\/windows.microsoft.com\/en-US\/windows-8\/iso\">Windows 8 Consumer Preview ISO<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Step-by-Step<\/h1>\n<p>First let me show you my setup to begin with.<\/p>\n<p>I have my System Drive (C:), the USB drive I want to use (E:) and the Windows 8 ISO mounted (F:)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomasmaurer.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/WindowsToGo01.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Windows To Go\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thomasmaurer.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/WindowsToGo01-300x184.png\" alt=\"Windows To Go\" width=\"300\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Run <strong>diskpart<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomasmaurer.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/WindowsToGo03.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Windows To Go\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thomasmaurer.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/WindowsToGo03-300x237.png\" alt=\"Windows To Go\" width=\"300\" height=\"237\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>With \u201c<strong>list disk<\/strong>\u201d you can list all your disk<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomasmaurer.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/WindowsToGo04.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Windows To Go\" src=\"http:\/\/www.thomasmaurer.ch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/WindowsToGo04-300x237.png\" alt=\"Windows To Go\" width=\"300\" height=\"237\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Now select your usb drive (select disk 1) and clean it. You can now boot your USB drive.
