Email supports high-volume transactional, bulk, and marketing workloads, while SMS supports A2P messaging with deliverability metrics and sender options like toll\u2011free, 10DLC, short codes, and alphanumeric IDs depending on region and eligibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is an explanatory diagram that explains how ACS works :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" Services<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating Communication Services Resources<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the Microsoft Azure portal home page, indicated by the \u201cMicrosoft Azure\u201d header bar at the top left of the screen.<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/microsoft-cloud\/dev\/tutorials\/openai-acs-msgraph\/06-communication-create-acs-resource\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use the global search box at the top to type the query \u201cazure communication.\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/communication-services\/quickstarts\/create-communication-resource\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the search results under Services, select \u201cCommunication Services\u201d to proceed to that service<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-74.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8404\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On the Basics tab, select the subscription and resource group<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter a unique resource name and choose the data location<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then click Review + Create to deploy the Communication Services resource.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-75.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8406\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click Create<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" Resources<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Navigate to the Azure Portal<\/strong>\u00a0and search for \u201cEmail Communication Services\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-77.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8412\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Choose the target Subscription.<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/communication-services\/quickstarts\/email\/create-email-communication-resource\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select an existing Resource group (or use Create new).<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/communication-services\/quickstarts\/email\/create-email-communication-resource\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the Name for the Email Communication Service.<a href=\"https:\/\/mailtrap.io\/blog\/azure-send-email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm Region is Global for the service.<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/communication-services\/quickstarts\/email\/create-email-communication-resource\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set Data location to United States.<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/communication-services\/quickstarts\/email\/create-email-communication-resource\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Review + create to validate settings.<a href=\"https:\/\/mailtrap.io\/blog\/azure-send-email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After validation passes, click Create to deploy.<a href=\"https:\/\/mailtrap.io\/blog\/azure-send-email\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait for Deployment to complete, then select Go to resource.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to Email Communication Service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In Overview window go to \u201cAdd free subdomain\u201d section and select \u201c<strong>Click Add subdomain<\/strong>.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-79.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8416\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After clicking on \u201c<strong>Add free Subdomain<\/strong>\u201d button a new subdomain will be created automatically<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-80.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8418\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Adding custom domain (Optional)<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-81.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8420\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After adding custom domain, a TXT Record must be added to your DNS zone to be verified (You must login to your DNS Provider Godaddy in my case then adding TXT Record with these settings).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-82.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8423\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>After Adding custom domain (I didnt Add TXT Record in my example just to show you steps, so domain will stay inverified and cant be used until I add TXT record) :<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-83.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8425\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Verify default \u201cFromMail\u201d Addresses<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the Email Communication Service domain blade, click on Free Azure Subdomain recently created.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-84.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8428\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>open MailFrom addresses under the Azure Managed Domain<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>View the default MailFrom address shown as\u00a0<strong>DoNotReply@&lt;xxxxxxx>.azurecomm.net<\/strong>\u00a0with its display name.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-85.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8430\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>One of the limitations of the \u201cFree Azure Subdomain\u201d is that you cannot create additional email addresses apart from \u201cDoNotReply.\u201d This option is available with the custom domain.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Connect created domain to your Communication Services<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the Communication Service previously created, go to Email then Domains<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Connect domains.<a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/communication-services\/quickstarts\/email\/connect-email-communication-resource\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/learn.microsoft.com\/en-us\/azure\/communication-services\/concepts\/email\/email-domain-and-sender-authentication\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In the Connect email domains panel, pick Subscription, Resource Group, Email Service, and a Verified Domain from the dropdowns.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.equisys.com\/blog\/howto-configure-exchange-online-smtp-delivery-with-azure-communication-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Connect to link the selected verified domain to the Communication Service.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-86.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8433\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Domain Successfully connected<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-87.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8435\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Try Sending Email<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the Communication Service resource, open Email the select Try Email to use the portal\u2019s send test interface.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the Send email from address (the connected\/managed domain) from the dropdown.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the sender email username (display name\/alias used before the domain).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Provide the recipient email address to deliver the test message.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Set the email subject for the outgoing message.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add attachments as needed for the test email.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type the message body content to be sent.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click Send to dispatch the email through Azure Communication Services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cloudsecop.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/image-88.png\" alt=\"\"
