{"id":2052,"date":"2017-03-29T18:26:18","date_gmt":"2017-03-29T18:26:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/microsoftgeek.com\/?p=2052"},"modified":"2018-09-06T23:18:18","modified_gmt":"2018-09-06T23:18:18","slug":"how-to-configure-dhcp-failover-on-windows-server-2012-r2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/microsoftgeek.com\/?p=2052","title":{"rendered":"How to configure DHCP failover on Windows Server 2012 R2"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"text\">\n<p>Configuring the <strong>DHCP failover<\/strong> in your <em>LAN<\/em> is a simple operation to improve the reliability of the network.<\/p>\n<p>There are two main ways to provide <strong>DHCP failover<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Load balancing<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Hot standby<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Load balancing<\/em> allows to share the load between two or more <em>DHCP servers<\/em> while the <em>Hot standby<\/em> mode simply provide <em>DHCP redundancy<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In this guide we adopted the <em>Hot standby<\/em> mode.
