To do this, follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Open the Exchange Management Shell on the on-premises server, and then run the following command to check whether the <b>ExchangeGUID<\/b> property of the on-premises remote mailbox is set:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Get-RemoteMailbox &lt;alias of cloud mailbox to move&gt; | Format-List ExchangeGUID<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Note<\/b> If the <b>ExchangeGUID<\/b> property returns all zeros, the value isn&#8217;t stamped on the on-premises remote mailbox.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Open Windows PowerShell (don&#8217;t use the Exchange Management Shell), and then connect to Exchange Online. For more info about how to do this, see <a href=\"http:\/\/technet.microsoft.com\/en-us\/library\/jj984289(v=exchg.150).aspx\">Connect to Exchange Online Using Remote PowerShell<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Connect to Exchange On-line<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"3\">From the PowerShell console on an Exchange 2010 server:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>$Cred = Get-Credential<\/p>\n<p><b>$s = New-PSSession -ConfigurationName Microsoft.Exchange -ConnectionUri <\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/ps.outlook.com\/powershell\"><b>https:\/\/ps.outlook.com\/powershell<\/b><\/a><b> -Credential $cred -Authentication Basic \u2013AllowRedirection<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Import-PSSession $s<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"3\">Type in your domain admin credentials with username of &lt;username&gt;@company.com<\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"3\">Type in your domain admin credentials with username of domain\\&lt;username&gt;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Run the following command to retrieve the value of <b>ExchangeGUID<\/b> property of the mailbox that you want to move.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Get-Mailbox &lt;MailboxName&gt; | Format-List ExchangeGUID<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"4\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Run the following command to set the value of the <b>ExchangeGUID<\/b> property on the on-premises remote mailbox to the value that you retrieved in step 3:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Set-RemoteMailbox &lt;MailboxName&gt; -ExchangeGUID &lt;GUID&gt;<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"5\" data-aria-level=\"2\">Force directory synchronization.
