DHCP Server is one of the critical parts of today\u2019s network. When somebody\u00a0request for IP (Internet Protocol), instead of a network administrator, a server distributes IP for the device. Configure DHCP Server After Installing Step By Step<\/h2>\n

After installing the DHCP on Windows Server, now you need to configure and setup to let it work fully and serve clients.<\/span><\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> When the DHCP role installed, On the window, click on Complete DHCP configuration\u00a0<\/strong>option to open the configuration window.<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> Skip the Description page by clicking on Next<\/strong> button. Now enter the credentials in both boxes, for entering the alternative credential click on Specify<\/strong> button and type the username and password then click on Commit<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong>\u00a0The Summary page show you the summary of post installation configurations, just click on the Close<\/strong> button to close it.<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong>\u00a0When the DHCP opened, expand DHCP server name and right-click on IPv4<\/strong> then click on the New Scope<\/strong> option to create an IP scope for distribution.<\/p>\n

6.<\/strong>\u00a0Now that the new page is opened, enter a scope name and description then click on Next<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

7.<\/strong> Specify the IP Address Range by entering the start IP Address<\/strong> and End IP address<\/strong> then click Next<\/strong>. The length automatically assigns based on you IP address class and the subnet mask assigns automatically, if you want you can specify a special range.<\/p>\n

8.<\/strong> You can exclude some of the IP addresses for the servers or services especially. The IPs excluded will not be assigned automatically, (IPs before and after the exclusion range). Specify the IP range you want to exclude, add the IP range and click on Next<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

9.<\/strong>\u00a0On the Configure DHCP<\/strong> option page, select this option: Yes, I want to configure these options now\u00a0<\/strong>(Here you can specify Lease Duration of the service by the server by clicking on Next<\/strong> button.<\/p>\n

10.<\/strong>\u00a0Users use the IP address to connect the DHCP server, enter your Router\u2019s IP address in the box and add<\/strong> that then click Next<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

11.<\/strong> DHCP server works with IP addresses, sometimes you need the device name. In that case, the DNS (Domain naming Server) is needed, enter the parent domain name for the translation of the IP to name and name to IP.<\/p>\n

15.<\/strong> Select the 005 name servers and in the box below that, type the server name and resolve that. If that resolved, IP address will appear just click Apply<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
