You may want to do this in conjugation with message restrictions to minimise unwanted emails from external email addresses.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>How to allow external senders to use a distribution list<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>In the <strong>Exchange Management Console<\/strong>, expand the<strong> \u2018Organization Configuration\u2019<\/strong> node, and then select the <strong>\u2018Distribution List\u2019<\/strong> node<\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.itsupportguides.com\/uploads\/MSExchange2010-AddToDistributionList6.png\" alt=\"MSExchange2010-AddToDistributionList6\" width=\"1045\" height=\"369\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Once you have located the desired Distribution Group, <strong>double-click<\/strong> on the object<\/li>\n<li>Select the <strong>\u2018Mail Flow Settings\u2019<\/strong> tab<\/li>\n<li>Select <strong>\u2018Message Delivery Restrictions\u2019<\/strong> then click on the <strong>\u2018Properties\u2019<\/strong>button<\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.itsupportguides.com\/uploads\/MSExchange2010-DistributionListExternal1.png\" alt=\"MSExchange2010-DistributionListExternal1\" width=\"444\" height=\"515\" \/><\/li>\n<li><strong>un-tick<\/strong> the <strong>\u2018Require that all senders are authenticated\u2019<\/strong> option<\/li>\n<li><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/static.itsupportguides.com\/uploads\/MSExchange2010-DistributionListExternal2.png\" alt=\"MSExchange2010-DistributionListExternal2\" width=\"427\" height=\"452\" \/><\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>\u2018OK\u2019 <\/strong>then <strong>\u2018OK\u2019<\/strong> again to save the changes.<\/li>\n<li>External email addresses are now able to use the distribution list.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By default when you create a distribution group (also known as a distribution list) external email addresses are unable to send emails to the group.
