Faced with this requirement the Exchange administrator needs to work out how to lock down all other access protocols for the mailbox.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately this is quite simple to achieve with all current versions of Exchange Server, as well as\u00a0Office 365. In the properties of a mailbox look for the Mailbox Features section. There\u2019ll be some differences in how this looks depending on which version of Exchange you\u2019re using. For example here is the view using the Office 365 Admin Center. The Exchange Admin Center for Office 365 or\u00a0Exchange Server 2013\u00a0will look basically\u00a0the same.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"pop-only-mailbox-01\" src=\"http:\/\/exchangeserverpro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pop-only-mailbox-01.png\" width=\"382\" height=\"707\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In comparison here is what it looks like in the Exchange Server 2010 management console.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"pop-only-mailbox-02\" src=\"http:\/\/exchangeserverpro.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/pop-only-mailbox-02.png\" width=\"443\" height=\"326\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As you can see it is clear how each protocol can be enabled and disabled on a per-mailbox basis.
